The Senior Director of Corporate Development and Strategy will be responsible for driving both strategic planning and corporate development activities, including M&A, strategic partnerships, and long-term growth initiatives. This individual will ensure that all corporate development activities align with the company's overall business strategy, and will work closely with the executive team to evaluate market opportunities and shape the company's long-term direction. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning Process : Lead the company's strategic planning process, working with executive leadership to define long-term corporate objectives and initiatives Evaluate the company's core capabilities, identify growth opportunities, and mitigate competitive risks Partner with various departments (Product, Operations, Marketing) to ensure alignment between the strategic plan and operational execution Develop and implement processes to monitor, review, and adjust the company's strategy based on changing market conditions and industry trends Create data-driven frameworks for prioritizing initiatives and measuring progress toward strategic goals Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) : Own and lead the entire M&A process, from target identification through integration, ensuring that all transactions align with the company's strategic objectives Take full responsibility for the due diligence process, coordinating and managing internal teams (Finance, Legal, Operations, etc.) and external advisors (investment banks, consultants, legal counsel, etc.) to ensure thorough evaluation of acquisition targets Develop financial and operational models that consider business factors to assess the value and fit of potential acquisitions Lead post-merger integration efforts, focusing on seamless integration of acquired assets, teams, and technologies into the company's operations and product portfolio Work cross-functionally to ensure that all aspects of the M&A process, including negotiations, financial assessments, and integration planning, are executed efficiently and align with the company's long-term strategy Business Intelligence & Market Analysis : Lead efforts to analyze industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive positioning Use data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions, such as expanding into new markets, launching new products, or acquiring new capabilities Track competitor activities, advancements, and regulatory changes that could impact the company's performance or strategic objectives Cross-Functional Leadership : Act as a key liaison between corporate development, strategy, and operational teams to ensure that the company's strategic initiatives are aligned Provide leadership to cross-functional teams to ensure that strategic projects, M&A activities, and partnerships are executed effectively Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and other departments to support strategic initiatives and ensure smooth execution of corporate transactions Board and Investor Relations : Prepare and present strategic plans, M&A opportunities, and key growth initiatives to the Board of Directors and investors Act as a key point of contact for external advisors, consultants, and financial institutions involved in strategic planning and corporate development activities Education : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field (MBA or relevant master's degree preferred) Experience : 8+ years of experience in corporate development, M&A (Industrial Technology preferred), and strategic planning, preferably within a public company or a fast-growing technology-driven company Extensive experience with M&A transactions, from target identification and evaluation to deal structuring and integration Strong experience in managing strategic planning processes, including cross-functional collaboration and executive-level reporting is preferred Skills : Strong financial acumen and experience with complex financial transactions, including M&A and strategic investments Excellent leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align teams across multiple functions Exceptional communication and presentation skills, particularly when engaging with executives, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on execution and results.
