Summary: The Field Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining The Hill Group's ("Hill") Health and Safety Policies throughout all levels of the organization and for ensuring safe work practices are implemented and enforced while maintaining compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations. The Field Safety Coordinator must take a leadership role in developing and promoting our Hill Safety Culture. Safety is our priority and we are committed to taking the steps necessary to protect our people and to continue striving for an accident-free workplace. The Field Safety Coordinator works closely with the Project Managers, Superintendents, and Sub-Contractors to ensure the implementation of all Safety Policies and to meet the Safety Department's goals and objectives. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular safety assessments and inspections Observe employee work practices to detect potential accident situations Monitor proper use of all safety and test equipment while promoting consistent utilization among the jobsite workforce Document work-related incidents to include unsafe conditions, near-misses, and actual accidents Ensure all corrective measures are implemented while providing education to prevent re-occurrence Facilitate Safety Training as needed Assist with conducting new hire safety orientation as needed Assist Supervisors in how to properly conduct safety meetings Promote a high level of safety consciousness throughout the organization Assist in the development of job site safety plans Provide technical advice to field and office personnel Serve as a resource to project teams Assist Sr. Field Safety Coordinator and Safety Director Complete research as assigned by Sr. Field Safety Coordinator and Safety Director Complete tasks and projects assigned by the Sr. Field Safety Coordinator and Safety Director Identify areas of safety improvement and suggest the implementation of guidelines, policies, procedures, and training. Other Qualifications: Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and adjust to changing situations Great attention to detail, accuracy, and organization with an ability to prioritize and multi-task competing priorities and create own schedule Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with multiple levels within Hill and outside of the organization Must be able to work independently with limited supervision while still being a team player; also requires an initiative to improve Safety practices when identified Competencies: Results-Oriented Two-Way Communication Building Relationships Critical Thinking and Decision Making Adaptability Technical/Functional Expertise Motivating Others Education / Experience Requirements: Bachelor's in Occupational Safety/Health or related field or equivalent training and experience preferred. Zero (0) to two (2) years of previous construction safety and/or internship experience preferred. Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite Certifications/ License Requirements: Valid driver's license is a necessity.
