Design Engineer L1

Pay Rate: $29.00 - $35.00 Per hour Key Responsibilities: Utilize CATIA V5/V6 to design and model fixtures for vehicle parts, ensuring they meet all specifications for processes like welding, painting, and assembly. Analyze body part construction, datums, and weld information to incorporate relevant data into fixture designs. Conduct layout checks with stakeholders to confirm fixture designs align with production requirements. Export 3D/2D data for supplier quotes and ordering, ensuring smooth handoffs for external manufacturing. Research and implement improvements to fixturing and related processes to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Support requests for fixturing, test equipment, and prototyping across departments. Collaborate with Interior Design and Aerodynamics teams, creating data for evaluation models and wind tunnel test models as needed. Qualifications: Education : Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience. Experience : Minimum 3 years in related design work, ideally within automotive or manufacturing settings. Technical Skills : Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 for design and modeling. Strong knowledge of vehicle construction/assembly , Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) . Basic electrical and mechanical skills relevant to fixture design and testing. Soft Skills : High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
