Employment Type: Part time Shift: Description: About Mount Carmel Dublin: Mount Carmel Dublin will be an innovative medical ambulatory campus directly tailored to the needs of the Dublin community and surrounding suburbs. Services provided: 24-bay emergency department 60 acute inpatient beds 4 operating rooms Level 1 cardiac capability Advanced imaging, and other outpatient testing Attached MOB The attached medical office building will provide a community education space in addition to clinic space for: Primary Care Neurology Cardiology Vascular Other independent specialists Mount Carmel plans to extend its community health and well-being programs into the Dublin community as well. This position will be hired to staff Mount Carmel Dublin. While construction is underway, the majority of training will take place at Mount Carmel St. Ann's located at 500 S Cleveland Ave, Westerville, OH 43081. We are expecting Mount Carmel Dublin to open Spring of 2025. The Women's Imaging Nurse Navigator will interface with the breast health services team and assist with the coordination of all aspects of screening mammography, diagnostic imaging, clinical evaluation, support services and education for women receiving services at the Women's Health Center. This position also functions in the spirit of teamwork and is accountable for the coordination of patient care and supportive services utilizing the nursing process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization. What you will do: Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients. Relationship-based Care: Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care throughout their experience at Mount Carmel following the principles of our interdisciplinary care delivery system. Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®. Provide education about Breast Self Exam (BSE), Clinical Breast Exam (CBE), breast imaging modalities/processes, diagnostic testing and breast interventional procedures. Know WHC protocols for scheduling breast imaging procedures/appointments and ensures appropriate breast imaging evaluation appointment is scheduled. Identify the high risk patient through knowledge of ACS/NCCN guidelines and WHC High Risk Assessment Tools. Educate and navigate women who receive abnormal breast cancer screening results to assure timely access from screening to diagnostic evaluation to biospy if needed. Know and understand about mammography additional views, breast ultrasound, breast MRI and Galactography. Educate and reassure patients who are called back for additional breast imaging studies. What we are looking for: Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred · Licensure / Certification: Current license to work as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. Certification as Certified Breast Patient Navigator I - National Consortium of Breast Centers (NCBC) preferred. · Experience: Minimum of 3 years recent and relevant women's health clinical experience. · Effective Communication Skills · Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize and manage patient care. · Demonstrates effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills i.e.: compassion and sensitivity to highly emotional issues. · Effective in public speaking and establishing a positive public presence. · Highly motivated with strong leadership skills and teaching abilities. · Experience in program development preferred. · Able to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the physical, emotional and educational needs of patients. · Demonstrates ability to holistically assess problematic situations and initiate plan of action in all environments, regardless of support systems. · Demonstrates ability to work and function independently in a variety of settings. · Experience in protocol/pathway driven environments, able to deviate and make appropriate referrals. · Ability to effectively use all software computer programs required to navigate patients through the women's imaging processes for effective navigation ( ex.
