DEA's Transportation Business Unit is currently recruiting a full-time Project Controls Specialist . The Project Controls Specialist would be responsible for a variety of project-specific duties in a fast-paced professional consulting design firm. This position is ideally located in our Portland, OR, Salt Lake City, UT, or Boise, ID office. Duties would include the following: Demonstrate a high level of client satisfaction when working with peers, internal and external stakeholders, and external clients; Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving; taking a task from inception to completion; Lead and work with a team to seamlessly collaborate, build trust, develop solutions, and strengthen relationships; Superior communication skills and ability to adapt to various communication styles and personalities; Track actual costs against the budget, prepare forecasts, and implement change management for scope modifications; Assist project manager with monitoring adherence to scope, fee and change management; Develop, update, and manage project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project; Track schedule progress, perform critical path analysis, and update timelines as needed; Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to cost, timeline, and scope; Manage change requests, assess their impact on project cost and schedule, and maintain documentation; Plan, configure, and implement collaboration platforms like SharePoint, Procore, SharePoint, or ProjectWise to facilitate secure document sharing and process workflows; Identify and recommend opportunities to improve document and project control processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy; Collaborate with internal teams regarding new tools, software, and methodologies that optimize cost, schedule, and document management Oversee user access management tasks including processing and tracking access changes for collaboration platforms; Provide oversight and support to project teams on document control systems and project management tools; Contribute to the preparation of proposals and bids by providing insights on project controls procedures, project performance, and potential cost-saving strategies; Perform data analytics reporting using Power BI; Contribute to development of internal project controls program; Contribute to development of corporate project controls initiatives Basic Qualifications: Minimum 15 years of experience in project controls; A strong grasp of project management principles and practices; Strong leadership skills, capable of managing teams and mentoring junior level staff members; Experience with prioritizing competing requests and managing multiple deadlines; Proficiency in SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu; Experience with implementing, maintaining, and access management for collaboration platforms like SharePoint, Procore, SharePoint, or ProjectWise Additional software skills in Primavera P6, Power BI, ProjectWise, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Project; Excellent written and verbal communication skills including proof-reading and editing; Strong interpersonal skills; Experience with project contracts and invoicing as well as general accounting practices such as Accounts payable/Accounts receivable (AP/AR); Quality assurance and quality control experience. Preferred Qualifications: Project related experience in an architecture, engineering, or construction firm; Educational background related to the architecture, engineering, or construction industry; Certified Project Management Professional (PMP); Prior experience in supervisory roles.
