Insight Global is looking for a Wireless LAN Engineer to join a client 5-days a week onsite in Liberty, North Carolina. The Wireless LAN Engineer will support a Cisco-centric WAN, LAN, and WLAN environment, which includes managing routers, firewalls, security, and WLAN. This individual will own and fulfill both small and large strategic or tactical wireless projects, acting as the point of escalation for any project execution issues. Working alongside a junior engineer, you will manage 3-4 large simultaneous wireless refresh projects per quarter to completion. Your responsibilities will include conducting and coordinating site surveys, developing site plans to ensure total coverage of the facility, and building Bills of Materials (BOM). You will coordinate resources, track execution, and validate the deployment or upgrade of equipment and sites. Additionally, you will supervise and perform site installations, maintenance, upgrades, or software enhancements to support the network infrastructure needs. As a point of escalation for operational entities, you will handle regular or complex issues, monitor systems for trouble areas, proactively resolve issues, and document root causes. You will work on daily service tickets while also being engaged in enterprise wireless deployments. You will design, test, and implement new Wi-Fi deployments and upgrades to existing infrastructure, and engage with manufacturer technical support centers to quickly resolve issues as they arise. Required Skills & Experience -8-10+ years of experience working in network engineering with a focus in wireless networks (LAN/WAN/WLAN) -Deep understanding of Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM) -Extensive experience with Wireless technologies -Deep understanding of Local Area Network (LAN) switching technologies including; VXLAN, ACI, fabric path, Spanning Tree, Virtual LAN (VLAN), and VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) concepts -Wireless survey experience with Ekahau -Project management skills, strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to management Nice to Have Skills & Experience -Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification -Proficient with scripting technologies, including but not limited to Python, Bash, Perl, and JavaScript -Network implementation experience in a manufacturing environment Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
