TriBeCa Community School, a preschool in Downtown Manhattan, seeks a classroom teacher to start in December or January. The daily schedule for teachers is 8:30am-1:30pm, 5 daysweek. Teachers work on a collaborative team of 2 or 3 teachers.We are seeking creative, team-oriented teachers whoSee themselves as learners and researchers alongside children.Are careful observers and listeners of children.Will create positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.Responsibilities include:Implementing an inquiry-based curriculum, guided by theories of constructivism and social constructivism.Documenting the process and elevate the visibility of children's ideas and theoriesCommunicating with families daily regarding the classroom work and learningConducting parent-teacher conferences twice per yearConducting curriculum night parent workshop events twice per yearEngaging thoughtfully and collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parentsReflecting on own teaching practice; developing and working toward goals.QualificationsAt least two years of experience as a classroom teacherDegree in Early Childhood Education or related fieldSkilled in Mac programs, video, photography and editing programs, or willingness to learn.Available 8:30am-1:30pm M-F, year-roundSalary and BenefitsSalary is based on education and experienceEligible for health insurance, pre-tax transit benefits, and 401k retirement planProfessional development opportunitiesTo apply, email your resume and a cover letter to TriBeCa Community SchoolTriBeCa Community School is Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool in Downtown Manhattan.
