Job Summary: Manual loading and unloading of freight with the use of a pallet jack, hand truck or forklift, general labor, and warehouse maintenance. Shift: 6:30 am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday Primary Duties: Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, by use of equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack, or by using forklift. Checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing for processing by lot numbers Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped. Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received, knowing when to either refuse or accept with notation. Record documents to appropriate forms and/or logbooks. Verify that proper identification is attached. Sort cargo received by account or intended location, and store in proper location by part number. Perform forklift duties and learn to cube basic loads. Assist in various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, storing equipment, etc. Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation "user maintenance" and provide required reports. Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition. Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations. Scan outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and quality control. Ensure and comply with all procedures established to ensure product is being properly controlled. Communicate all problems and concerns regarding shipment scanning to Team Leader. Identify damaged items staged in outbound bays. Inspect outbound products for quality assurance. Accurately document results of outbound audits upon completion. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills: Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Ability to operate forklift, hand truck and pallet jack. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs. Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Balances team and individual responsibilities. Consistently at work and on time. Education/Certifications/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Possess or could become forklift certified. Driver's License or equivalent. Physical Demands: Regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
