Urban Planning Intern - Summer 2025 Job Locations US-NY-New York City ID Category Intern/Co-op Type Temporary Full-Time Career Stage Type Intern/Co-op # of Openings 1 Overview ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is looking for a Urband Planning Intern to join our New York team. This role will provide support to a wide range of planning projects. Responsibilities Prepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports Assist in site analysis, concept development, feasibility studies, and the preparation of master planning documentation including sustainability, transportation and resilience planning Participate in public engagement and outreach efforts Effectively interact with numerous VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner Project management support Skills and Attributes Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Fast learner, self-motivated Highly organized Capable of coordinating and performing multiple tasks concurrently Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and GIS Experience with SketchUp and Adobe Suite a plus Qualifications Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in urban planning/studies, environmental science, public policy, or a related field. Our best estimate of the hourly salary range for this position located in New York is $19/hr - $28/hr. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience. VHB does not provide housing for internships. We are VHB!
