Salary: $34,500.00 - $39,200.00 Annually Location : Governors State University, IL Job Type: Administrative & Professional Job Number: AP Division: Family Development Center Department: Family Development Center Opening Date: 04/11/2024 FLSA: Exempt Bargaining Unit: 0 Description Governors State University's Family Development Center Seeks to fill the position of Infant/Toddler/Two/Early Childhood Teacher . Salary range is $34,500-$39,200 depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will have the responsibility to implement a success oriented, developmentally appropriate program for Early Head Start children in a mixed age classroom ages 6 weeks to 3 years. Infant/toddler teachers integrate all aspects of Early Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC standards, and Illinois Day Care Regulations into the schedule and curriculum for each child including any special items as directed including but not limited to nutrition, behavior, or Individual Family Service Plans. Infant/Toddler teachers work in teaching teams of two or three in conjunction with the Education Director to design the environment and create lesson plans to meet the individual health, safety, social-emotional, and academic needs of the children. Additionally, the applicant must be able to create a warm and accepting environment for children, parents, volunteers, community representatives and staff and serve as models for GSU students. Current or former Head Start or Early Head Start parents who meet the minimum qualifications are encouraged to apply. Visit: position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on bonus, with a two-year minimum commitment. Required and Preferred Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Must be of age 18 years or older. Must be able to speak and write in English. Hold an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or Hold An Associates Degree with 18 hours in Early Childhood Education/Child Development and have Infant/Toddler Level 3 credential. One year of experience working with infants/toddlers in a licensed setting. Valid Driver's License Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood. Education/Child Development with 36 credit hours of course work focused on infant and toddler development and at least 3 years of experience working with infants and toddlers. Supplemental Information Work Schedule Infant/Toddler teachers shifts are Monday- Friday typically 7 AM-3 PM or 10 AM-6 PM. Occasional evenings for home visits and possible weekend/overnight travel to attend training and conferences.
