Leaderman (Welding) Location: Houma, LA Position Overview: A Leaderman (Welding) is responsible for directing the workforce in the successful assembly and prefabrication of structural welding components. The ideal candidate must have substantial experience in welding, knowledge of welding processes and techniques, and familiarity with marine practices and construction specifications. Key Responsibilities: Direct the workforce in the assembly and prefabrication of structural welding components. Plan and schedule craft-specific work tasks. Ensure adherence to welding-specific processes and techniques. Maintain familiarity with standard marine practices and general construction specifications. Communicate effectively with employees and other supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and coordination. Monitor and inspect the quality of work to ensure it meets company and industry standards. Focus on quality, production, safety, and environmental aspects of work being performed. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of assembly/prefab structural welding experience. Basic knowledge of welding-specific processes and techniques. Familiarity with standard marine practices and general construction specifications. Ability to read and understand drawings. Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others. Previous supervisory experience is a plus. Skills: Proficiency in structural welding and assembly/prefabrication. Ability to plan and schedule work tasks effectively. Knowledge of welding techniques and marine construction practices. Effective leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
