Job Description Provide leadership of the PacifiCorp Telecommunications Engineering team, in direct support of electrical system operations. Oversee technology standards, design, policies, and practices of the company's telecommunications operational systems and ensure they follow industry best practices. Ensure the enterprise has the capability to support new technologies and maintain high levels of network and system performance and reliability. Responsibilities Manage a team of 12-15 direct reports, including Telecom engineers and analysts, as well as additional staff augment and statement of work contractors to support strategic objectives. Provide technical vision for growth and obsolecense management of a extensive network that spans across eight western states and includes a variety of wired and wireless technologies. Manage annual capital and expense budget, set 10-year capital plan. Work with senior staff to establish and maintain technology standards. Manage distribution of project assignments, perform employee performance reviews, and award end of year merit based raises and annual incentive plan payout. Act as consultant to business units requiring telecommunications services. Provide updates and strategic plans to senior leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically four years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a Bachelor's degree. A minimum of two years additional directly related technical experience is required.) A minimum of seven years of experience with telecommunication transport systems. A minimum of three years of direct people management experience. Advanced technical knowledge of network and telecommunication technologies, and an understanding of enterprise IT environments including hardware configurations, complex operating systems, and disaster recovery practices. Knowledge of telecom, utility and information technology terms, equipment, systems, functions, and major vendors. Knowledge of electric utility operations terms, telecom equipment, system protection schemes, systems, functions, and major vendors. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Effective interpersonal skills and customer relationship skills. Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Availability as a resource for problem resolution on a 24-hour basis. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without an accommodation.
