How you will make history here... Under the direction of the Denver Site Operations Manager, the person in the Cookie Production Manager position provides leadership guidance in the production and packaging of Denver Bakery production, while utilizing all resources (i.e. personnel, raw materials, packaging, etc.) to ensure the output of high-quality product in the volume necessary to meet customer and consumer demand & meeting business results. He/she delivers schedule attainment and other business results in the areas of safety, quality, and cost. The role requires an Operational Excellence practitioner who can provide direction in the development and implementation of tactical objectives to drive improvements within the plant. He/she owns and drives the Campbells Way of Working process for their respective department; identifies improvement opportunities and applies appropriate tools to improve bottom-line results. This individual will lead OPEX workstreams, driving daily issue resolution and leading Chronic Improvement teams (for systemic opportunities) to drive performance improvements across all key metrics across the site scorecard. He/she develops the capabilities and competencies of Supervisors and Leaders through ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring; promotes employee engagement, empowerment, and teamwork. He/she ensures full compliance with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, as well as Company policies and standards related to safety, quality, and workplace conduct. He/she plans and assigns work recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. What you will do... Balance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and morale to achieve results in all areas. Conduct diagnostics on the Operating System (OS), Management Infrastructure (MI), Mindset, Behaviors & Capabilities (MBC) and Industry 4.0 for identified systems / lines through data analysis, floor observations, process monitoring and employee interviews. Coach Operations team & OPEX Leader to develop tactical implementation plans (TIPs) to drive system improvements across identified Workstreams. Develop and manage annual department strategic plan with seamless integration of OPEX Pillar teams to cultivate strong OPEX Systems and Strategies throughout department. Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provide regular progress reports to managers/staff. Meets production goals/objectives relative to schedule attainment, operating efficiencies, yield , labor utilization, etc. Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Make employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem and conflict resolution. Ensures his/her direct reports coach and counsel employees; document/discuss performance reviews on a timely basis. Leads all department continuous improvement/OPEX/Glidepath activities and initiatives for his/her respective operation, including leading or co-leading a Plant OPEX Pillar Team. Coaches and facilitates the Daily Direction Setting Process (DDS) according to Campbells Way of Working Standards. Assesses training needs and implements effective training programs to develop supervisors and hourly associates. Develops and implements effective communication plans to keep direct and indirect reports well-informed regarding business objectives, results, initiatives, changes, etc. Ensures that the operation's focus is properly aligned with the larger plant and corporate goals. Proactively manages safety programs and initiatives; drives a "zero incident, zero lost time" expectation to the production floor. Develops and maintains the budget and labor schedules for the operation. Tracks actual performance vs. plan using Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics; implements corrective action as necessary to ensure that annual objectives can be achieved. Interprets and enforces Company policies and procedures; holds employees fully accountable for complying with these standards. Resolves employee relations issues, questions, and complaints; maintains a positive employee relations environment. Updates senior plant management on business results, concerns, and needs on an ongoing basis. What sets your team apart? Has 24-hour/7-day accountability for the operation; must be available round-the-clock (ability to work across all shifts) to provide guidance and direction and address any issues that impact the production process. This could include providing coverage for direct reports during absences and vacations. Responsible for the daily management of the operation, as well as for strategic planning, budgeting, enabler identification and execution, capital projects, etc. Must possess the ability to overcome resistance to organizational change, influence hourly and salaried employees to embrace it, and lead the change initiative. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on business needs. Must develop and maintain rapport with employees at all levels of the Campbell Soup/Pepperidge Farm organization to drive results. Must interface effectively with multiple departments/functions in the plant, as well as Corporate Product Development, Engineering, etc. Must possess the ability to train a diverse group of salaried and hourly employees, adapting training programs and presentation style to fit the audience. Excellent leadership skills, compelling communication skills, and the ability to inspire, engage and motivate. What you bring to the table... High school diploma or GED Minimum of 5 years operations experience in a leadership role It would be great to have... B.A. degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field Minimum of 5 years management/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Extensive experience with formal problem-solving tools (A3, 5 Why, Fishbone, Root Cause Analysis) Previous experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment employing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and/or Six Sigma, Asset Care & Reliability Concepts.
