Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Quality Inspector 2nd Shift. The hourly rate for this position is $17.94 per hour with a $1/hr shift differential. What you'll do: Eaton's Commercial & Residential Distribution Solutions division is currently seeking a 2nd shift Quality Inspector to join our team. This position is based at our Hodges, SC location. Position Overview: The Quality Inspector will perform a variety of specific and detailed inspection functions which are required by customers to ensure their product meets or exceeds specifications, requiring selection of inspection equipment, methods, procedures, and techniques appropriate to the product and customer expectations. In this function you will: Comply with the environment, health, and safety guidelines. Make certain all checklists, red tags and written process changes are complete and cleared by certified personnel signatures. Notify area supervisors, production managers, and other team members as required of problems in a timely manner to resolve corrective action requests (CARs) prior to shipment due dates. Collect defect information per product and track for appropriate long-term resolutions to CARs. Properly use and maintain inspection equipment, such as calipers, gauges, and tape measure. Review drawings and examine structure to isolate defects and utilize all appropriate resources such as, supervisors, production managers, engineers, and product managers. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production. Verify production area work complies with product requirements. Use material handling equipment to move product and supplies. May lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 400 lbs. occasionally with assistance. Inspect rejected parts having hold tags placed by work areas to verify nonconformance. If a nonconformance exists, all items must be inspected, and corrective action taken according to established procedures. Qualifications: Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship Preferred qualifications: Minimum three (3) months of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment Minimum three (3) months of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (e.g., forklift) Minimum three (3) months of experience utilizing Eaton system controls including material management Minimum three (3) months of experience using hand and air tools Minimum one (1) year of experience in MS Windows environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent Position Criteria: Proven problem-solving skills. Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus Essential Functions: Push and/or pull up to 100 lbs.
