THE POSITION The Montgomery County Department of Transportation is seeking a committed professional to fill the position of Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor (Transportation). DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will manage the development of plans and cost estimates for various operational activities, such as paving, construction, and snow removal, through your team of supervisors. Your responsibilities will include making recommendations for resource distribution to meet program objectives and enhance customer satisfaction, while fostering effective communication and improving relationships with both labor and clients. You will also be tasked with inspecting fieldwork for adherence to policies, quality standards, and project plans, engaging with stakeholders to address concerns, and aiding in the creation of innovative work methods and materials. Furthermore, you will assess road conditions to prioritize tasks appropriately, ensure the implementation of safety protocols, and evaluate operational capabilities to fulfill needs efficiently. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS) Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid driver's license. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
