Your Role: As a Maintenance Electrician the basic job function will be to support production and quality goals by ensuring safe and reliable operation of production and electrical distribution equipment in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. The Maintenance Electrician will assemble, install, test, and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical wiring and equipment up to and including 12.47 kV. In addition, the Maintenance Electrician will perform basic building maintenance throughout the site. Responsibilities include: Use diagrams, sketches, OEM manuals, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions. Effectively communicate job status. Document job activities and observations. Accurately perform inventory transactions. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with site procedures and safety programs. Dayshift position but includes opportunity for scheduled and emergency overtime on nights and weekends. Transition to rotating shift possible. Physical Attributes: Work in confined spaces and at heights of 60 feet. Use of hand and power tools including precision measuring instruments. Operate forklift and/or aerial work platforms. Who You Are: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. 3+ years of experience in an industrial electrical maintenance. Preferred Qualifications: Electrical trade school certificate or participation in an electrical union apprenticeship program. Previous process experience in a chemical plant. Experience handling safety work permits and procedures. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and NFPA70E requirements. Knowledge of testing equipment including, but not limited to, digital multimeters, megger, ground resistance tester, non-contact voltage testers, and hot sticks while ensuring the test equipment is properly maintained and calibrated according to the manufacturer's specifications. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, symbols, and Single Line Diagrams. Knowledge of transformer connection and phasing. Ability to perform switching activities for high and low voltage breakers, fused devices, and switches. Ability to install or repair conduit up to 2" to include use of conduit benders, threading machines, dies, tri-pot vise, oiler and gun hose, and hydraulic knockouts.
