The Ultra Maritime Engineering function manages a portfolio of specialist capabilities, generating highly differentiated solutions and products by applying electronic, mechanical, and software technologies in demanding and critical environments to meet customer needs. Nationality Requirements Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers. Job Description Key Responsibilities: Perform electrical design contributing to new product development as well as design maintenance and troubleshooting on existing products. Work with the Mechanical Designers for packaging at feasibility stage. Provide electrical design constraints at the design stage. Recommend and implement changes to existing products. Produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings and electronic images. Produce and verify power and heat budgets for the design. Design parts based on written and verbal descriptions. Work closely with Production during initial builds. Make recommendations to the Mechanical Engineers to enhance product performance. System integration in a team environment. Actively support qualification testing. Required Skills: BSEE from an accredited university, or equivalent. 4-8 years' experience in electrical design, preferably in a defense electronics manufacturing or similar environment. Proficiency using schematic capture tools a MUST. Ability to read and comprehend basic engineering design concepts, standard operating procedures, engineering change notices, technical reports, and correspondence. Must be a self-starter and a team player. Strong electrical aptitude with the creative ability to produce original design solutions. Ability to run simulations (e.g., signal integrity) as needed to evaluate designs. Familiarity with MIL specifications. MIL-STD-1553 required. This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization Desired Skills: MSEE, or actively pursuing, desirable. Experience with RAD Hard designs a plus. C programming for embedded drivers desired. VHDL/FPGA design experience desired. PIC/ARM experience preferred.
