Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Cardiac Medical Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required. First-time travelers are welcome. License: License in hand required prior to submission. Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS)- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale certification preferred Must-Have: - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias- Telemetry on-unit monitoring- Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization- Peripheral line care and management- PICC line management- Management of cardiac drips (no titration)- Management of vasoactive drips (no titration)- Procedural sedation administration- Ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips- Chest tubes (Emerson, Pleur-evac) management- External CPAP/BIPAP management- Tracheostomy management Job Description: - Provide compassionate care to cardiac patients with conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Arrhythmias, and those undergoing pre and post cardiac Focus on managing patients with respiratory issues such as COPD and pneumonia, including the use of BIPAP.- Work within a 30-private bed Cardiac Medical Progressive Care department, ensuring 24/7 patient care.- Utilize EPIC for patient Participate in self-assisted scheduling for 6-week periods, aligning with departmental needs and patient care priorities.- Collaborate with a team that includes nurse assistants available 24/7 and an RN secretary from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM.- Use of Rapid Response Teams is preferred.- Engage in a weekend rotation and holiday shifts as needed.- Must be willing to float to different campus locations if necessary.- Complete non-billable modules during Compliance alignment with all required vaccinations, except for valid medical or religious exemptions. This role requires a strong focus on cardiac care, along with the ability to manage emergency situations effectively. It is ideal for a dedicated nurse seeking a challenging and rewarding experience.
