Summary: We are looking for an experienced leader in supportive housing management and development to create and grow a new division of supportive housing at Envision Unlimited. The ideal candidate should have a record of both managing and developing housing. With respect to developing housing resources, the successful candidate should have a record of having developed affordable projects using HUD dollars, resources from IHDA, the Federal Home Loan banks, HOME, rapid rehousing funds, supportive housing funding and other continuums of care funding. We are looking for a leader who is already involved in regional housing resource partnerships such as Housing Action Illinois, Corporation for Supportive Housing and SHPA, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Essential Responsibilities , include but are not limited to: Overall responsibility for the smooth function of all supportive housing projects created and managed by the division. Overall responsibility for the appropriate collection of and reporting on data required by various funding sources; Responsible for being aware of all affordable housing funding opportunities Develop and execute a long-term strategic vision for growing Envision Unlimited' s supportive housing portfolio, including identifying opportunities for expansion and innovation in housing and identifying communities in which to create affordable projects Work with the Director of Supportive Housing and Residential Services to integrate services into each project design Responsible for reaching out to and creating and nurturing relationships with community; organizations, zoning boards, housing authorities, communities of care and other institutions that are responsible for each community's planning and funding of housing resources Responsible for assembling a team to respond to RFPs Effectively negotiates with funders and partners to ensure that a project is developed that puts the organization in the best position for success. Overall responsibility for managing development projects through to completion and rent up along with managing the relationship with internal staff, government agencies, investors, and other stakeholders. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The Director of Housing will supervise one or more property managers and/or oversee property management contracts, and the properties that they manage, as well as other related staff. WORK ENVIRONMENT Envision Unlimited is a state-wide organization and may require extensive travel around the state to identify and oversee projects. A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel is a must. Envision Unlimited' s strategic plan also calls for expanding operations to adjacent states and may require out of state travel as well. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION, SKILLS, and/or EXPERIENCE A Master's degree or a bachelor's degree with 5 years' experience. Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams Familiarity with at least one property management software package such as Yardi Experience with managing budgets and financial planning for housing projects.
