Essential radiographic exams that utilize ionizing radiation while providing protection for all patients using ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principles, as well as supervising staff technologists in the correct use of radiation producing equipment.Perform invasive procedures and exams requiring the use of contrast agents, both oral and intravenous injection (venipuncture), under the direct supervision of a radiologist, as well as supervising staff technologists in the correct performance of these duties.Participates in performance improvement activities in the Radiology DepartmentParticipates in continuous quality improvement activities within the hospital or in the Radiology DepartmentAdheres to principles of infection control in performing direct patient carePerforms safety/control checks on department equipment as per department standardsDemonstrates proper application of medication administration principlesProvides protection of the patient via proper lead shielding, confidentiality, railing etc.Wears radiation film badge all the time while in work statusExplains procedures to patients and ensures that the proper consent forms are signedProvides age-appropriate care, as evidenced by completion of age-specific competency checklist.
