The Facilities Electrical Project Engineer will report directly to the Facility Engineering Team Leader. This position provides technical engineering services and project management to support production, maintenance, and administrative departments achievement of the locations business plan. Responsibilities include: Manage the electrical and controls scope of process improvement, capital expansion, and obsolescence mitigation projects. Coordinate all phases of assigned projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, related bid meetings, equipment and facilities engineering/design, manufacturing, and installation through final start-up, acceptance and project closure. Assist production and maintenance with various types of equipment and process issues from an engineering perspective with key emphasis on maintaining and improving reliability and productivity of systems with specialized technical expertise in the application and use of automation technology for plant facilities and processes. Provide a higher-level support for all PLC, HMI, and Robotic systems and programming for all PLC/Scada/Database Systems. Maintain accurate records for all automation programs and all changes to these systems. Propose and execute improvements to existing automation systems and processes. Focus on overall safety of facilities equipment and processes including responsibility and oversight of EHS policies. Oversee contractor work and compliance to Howmet Aerospace, Federal/State, Environmental, Health and Safety policies. Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, perform jobs on various work platforms as well as varying heights. employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, regularly lift/move up to 25. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires occastional travel by car or plane, and correspondingly duties may be performed in various settings. Required Skills & Experience Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of 5 years experience working with electrical systems such as power distribution, PLC's, HMIs, and database systems Experience with Project Management in a team-based environment Nice to Have Skills & Experience Preferred Qualifications: Basic experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems. Capable of programming Allen Bradley/ControlLogix/Modicon PLC systems. Experience programming Wonderware, SQL, touchscreen HMI/SCADA systems. Understanding of NEC, NFPA, and other pertinent electrical safety codes. Ability to use ACAD/Inventor.
