Position Type: Administration Date Posted: 10/29/2024 Location: Saginaw ISD Millet Learning Ctr District: Saginaw Intermediate School District - website RESPONSIBLE TO: The Building Administrators and the Nursing Administrator of the Millet Learning Center. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Administration/Non-bargaining. One (1) Full-time position, 261 days. Salary: $63,112-$66,307 (Grade 12) GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION: To assist the Nursing Administrator in providing nursing services to the Millet Center students which will meet their health and educational needs. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: To assist in health care assessment and evaluation of students: Follow up on all health referrals. To provide basic first aid treatment: To train and in-service appropriate personnel at the Millet Center. To serve as a back up to staff members who provide routine medical treatment such as cauterizations, breathing treatments, etc. To perform invasive medical procedures. To administer first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures. To make recommendations to the building Director on health needs of individual students. To administer medical injections as required. To assist the nursing supervisor in meeting the special dietary needs of students. To assist the nursing supervisor in maintenance and record keeping of immunization records. To serve as a health consultant for teaching and support staff, parents, community agencies, etc. To be responsible for providing in serves on CPR, first aid, special procedures, etc. as deemed necessary. To serve as a member of the Millet IEPC team To serve as a member of the Behavior Treatment Program. To be responsible for following medical procedures and duties according to the State rules and regulations. To assist the nursing supervisor in maintaining emergency cart and equipment. To follow up on three day and extended absences of students and referrals for staff injuries/health concerns. To keep all student, parent, and staff information confidential. To have a positive attitude in working with students, parents, the staff members, and community members. EARLY ON RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the LPNs assigned to support and conduct home visits to support the individual needs of infants and toddlers in the Early On Program who have medical needs Coordinate with outside medical providers regarding plans of care and support for infants on caseload Complete necessary training as required through EOTTA for Early On Services Ensure the completion of all required documentation and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) for Early On children assigned to caseload Support in the completion evaluations for eligibility for services for infants and toddlers as part of a multidisciplinary evaluation team through the direction of assigned LPNs Document services in EdPlan in a timely manner. Attend Early On collaboration meetings to support the Early ON team as needed OTHER SKILLS: To use proper phone etiquette at all times. Willingness to learn and utilize basic keyboarding computer skills. Willingness to receive additional training to improve job skills. Other duties as requested by supervisor. MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS: Current certification to practice as a Registered Nurse in Michigan required. A minimum of three years of nursing experience required. Proficiency in technical nursing and health care procedures, including tracheotomy care, suctioning, catheterization and tube feedings required. Experience with pediatrics, geriatrics and/or persons with physical, mental, or chronic health impairments desired. Ability to utilize appropriate manners, conduct, and grooming when working with clients required. Good health and good attendance history required. Effective oral and written communication skills.
