Field Service Engineer Country/Region: US Location: Auburn Hills, MI, US, 48326Northville, MI, USGray Court, SC, US Req ID 72978 | Auburn Hills, Gray Court, Northville, United States ZF Active Safety and Electronics US LLC What you can look forward to as a Resident Service Engineer: The Field Service Engineer is an experienced professional engineer responsible for coordinating customerresidential quality engineering, Mobile Service activities, and field service activities inside the customer network. Support the project phase of new products concerning service diagnostics, routines, repairs, and procedures Coordinate with Controls and Calibration teams in relation to new software releases to the OEM factory as well as the field Provide new hire technical training and assistance through onboarding phase, Provide l"‹"‹"‹"‹aunch support for new product with the respective OEM Rapid detection of new error patterns in the field. Monitor remedial action effectivity Communication with our customers as first contact for all product related support questions Support fault diagnosis and repair recommendation for our customer workshops including using customer tools Instruct and advise customer employees in regard to fault detection, root cause analysis and repair instructions Provide field support and monitoring in selected reference markets Perform system analysis on non-conforming products in the vehicle as well as the clarification of and provision of support for end customer complaints in the Field. Provide on-site support for our customers workshops performing failure mode analysis using customer specific and ZF tools Complete objective measurement to evaluate failure modes, subjective customer complaints and shift quality Document and perform statistics related to customer activities Collect complaint related information in order to monitor the quality situation and improve the product within the context of continuous improvement Document and monitor quality complaints in ZF and customer specific databases Support sorting activities and reporting of quality concerns. Support with the organization of spare parts Identify reductions in guarantee and warranty costs for ZF and the OEM, through the prevention of unnecessary repairs Conduct data administration, documentation and interpretation of the database, Submit weekly reports to team members This position could be based out of one of these locations: Auburn Hills, MI, Northville, MI, or Gray Court, SC Your profile: B.S. in Engineering or related field Minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering experience in a manufacturing or technical environment, experience in the Automotive Industry preferred Proven ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, and procedures Basic SAP experience Basic INCA knowledge, VBA programming skills, and Power BI skills preferred Knowledge in total vehicle systems Electronics, transmissions, and transmission assembly (hands on) preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Proven creativity and analytical methods with a high-level of attention to detail Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as Excellent presentation skills Experience in Quality Engineering is a plus Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing preferred Why you should choose ZF: A supportive collaborative team environment Annual Incentive Plan Paid Vacation Personal Time 401k Plan Health Care Benefits Paid Holidays (13 fixed holidays) A Hybrid Work Schedule (2 days remote/3 days onsite) A strong diversity culture Supportive Employee Groups and community outreach activities Be part of our ZF team as Field Service Engineer and apply now!
