Job Title: Pharmacist Location: Plattsburgh, NY Shifts: Primary Shift: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM Secondary Shifts: 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM and 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Position Summary: Kappael Consulting is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our inpatient hospital pharmacy team in Plattsburgh, NY. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience, a current New York State pharmacist license (or the ability to obtain one), and the willingness to work evening shifts. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use for our patients. Key Responsibilities: Review and interpret physician orders for appropriateness and accuracy. Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with established policies and procedures. Monitor patient medication therapies, providing recommendations for therapy adjustments as necessary. Educate patients and healthcare staff on medication management and safety. Maintain accurate records and documentation of medication distribution and inventory. Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient care and medication regimens. Participate in pharmacy quality assurance and improvement initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited program. Current New York State pharmacist license or the ability to obtain licensure. Minimum of 2 years of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience. Residency training experience is a plus. Experience with Epic software preferred (1 year of Epic training experience). Previous retail pharmacy experience is advantageous. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in pharmacy information systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Requirements: Ability to work onsite in a hospital environment. Willingness to work the primary evening shift (2:30 PM to 11:00 PM) and secondary shifts as needed.
