About the Role The Project Engineer (Electrical) leads the design of Tenant fit-out projects and serves as a key designer on base building/infrastructure upgrades Primary Responsibilities: Lead the design of Tenant fit-out projects and serve as a key designer on base building/infrastructure upgrades. Assemble riser diagrams which show the major items of electrical equipment in a building, schedules, and floor plans. Participate in specification writing. Establish design criteria from the project proposal and assemble basis of electrical design documents. Assemble a complete set of contract documents for trade including the layout main equipment rooms, closets, shafts, risers, etc. Lead design of ancillary systems required for a project and assemble scope associated drawings with these systems (e.g., Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) generators, fuel oil, secondary water pumps, water reclamation system, etc.). Review shop drawings, RFI's, contractor change orders, performing site visits and punch-lists with limited supervision to verify that electrical designs are being implemented accurately. Establish an efficient project schedule for project team that ensures appropriate use of resources while adhering to deadlines. Monitor progress and completion of tasks, holding team members accountable to completing tasks on time regardless of position. Communicate with all internal and external project members about deadlines, issues, meetings, and deliverables to project success. Participate in the preparation of basic proposals/add services, prompting Supervising Partner/Associate for review and approvals and managing design/owner changes. Coordinate, collaborate, and update entire project team (all internal departments) on a regular basis to ensure that design documents are aligned, and deadlines and design expectations are met. Update established checklists and design guidelines during design of projects to maintain JBB standard of quality. Schedule sit-down page-turn/reviews with Associate/Partner, ensuring that revisions are incorporated in a timely manner. Attend project meetings and provide technical support/expertise as needed. Provide project updates to supervising Associate/Partner on a regular basis and address any outstanding problems/issues. Anticipate problems/issues and proactively work with Associate/Partner to address them, generating effective solutions to prevent similar problems in the future. Review team members' contract documents, calculations, shop drawings, design work, and routing of major distribution. Understand and manage the complete design process for all types and phases of projects. Communicate project goals clearly and consistently to align with client expectations. Position allows working from home 1-2 days per week. Minimum Qualifications: U.S. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or the foreign degree equivalent. 3 years' experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Experience with design calculations and software tools including Revit and AutoCAD. Experience with Electrical Engineering project scope (i.e., proposal/add-service), trade related codes (including energy, building, etc.) and the required coordination with other engineering departments. Experience with documentation requirements for each deliverable phase (e.g., SD, DD, CD and specifications). Experience with applicable design procedures (i.e. archiving drawings, filing drawings and forms, etc.) and construction administration (i.e., updating shop drawing log, updating RFI log, etc.). Working Conditions: The position requires sitting, walking, and, at times, prolonged standing. Will be requested to visit construction sites and may be required to use ladders or lifts. The work requires both indoor and outdoor activity in temperatures ranging from moderate to extreme cold or hot and other weather conditions. May require lifting of equipment. Due to the 24x7 nature of the position, occasional work on nights and weekends to support system commissioning is expected. What We Offer Our employees are our greatest strength.
