About the Job We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our dynamic team in Detroit, Michigan . This role offers the opportunity to work with a talented group of CPAs, providing a solid foundation to advance your career in public accounting. As a Tax Manager, you will handle a mix of tax and accounting responsibilities, managing client relationships, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and supporting our clients' financial health with a range of tax strategies. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement tax strategies to minimise clients' tax liability. Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns. Maintain and review digital workpapers for tax return engagements. Draft correspondence, develop spreadsheets, and conduct complex technical tax research. Cultivate a deep understanding of clients' businesses and industries, building strong relationships. Promote a collaborative, supportive, and respectful office environment. Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations; monitor work status to meet deadlines. Conduct tax research, providing guidance to clients and partners. Review general ledger accounts for accuracy and collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting treatments. Stay up-to-date with changes in tax and accounting regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA certification required . Minimum of 4 years of experience in tax planning and compliance within a public accounting environment, handling individual, trust, corporate, and pass-through tax returns. Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and GAAP principles. Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
