Description The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing tasks associated with installation and/or maintenance of digital communication equipment. Field Service Engineers perform new customer installations, service calls, de-installations, and network maintenance, among other projects. The successful candidate must be driven to learn new technologies and be capable of mastering tasks quickly, self-starting and dedicated to being part of a team. Perform installations of telecom dishes and antennas. Installation of cameras; indoors, outdoors and on traffic/utility poles Installation of wireless access points on non-penetrating mounts and inside of buildings. Assemble and install non-penetrating roof mounts and wall mounts, cabinets and equipment racks. Cabling installation (run and terminate cables, including Cat5/6, DC power (low voltage) and fiber), PVC / flex conduit installation. Mount and align microwave/wireless radios from Cambium/Siklu/etc. Install/configure/program other connectivity/networking equipment such as power supplies, servers, routers, switches, etc. Understand and troubleshoot TCP/IP and networking issues. Promptly respond to calls for service. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment in an efficient and timely manner. Experience and knowledge of AC and DC power systems including wiring of both types. Proactively communicate realistic timeline expectations for assigned tasks. Provide informational daily reporting on job progress and operational or maintenance issues. Become the on-site technical resource for sub-contractors during new construction. Assist in presenting, demonstrating, and proposing our products and services to prospective and current customers. Collaborate with Design engineers and Sales Team to solicit, compile & prioritize market feedback for product development based on customer needs. Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks as necessary. Submit regular reports on work activities or other information as requested by management Requirements High School Diploma or GED certificate 3+ year of experience installing digital wireless equipment and/or related technical fields Experienced with installing equipment racks, and grounding. 3+ years of experience as a system engineer or technician in a related industry or field. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong organizational and planning skills, and capable of managing several complex tasks at a time Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written & verbal Strong customer service skills Must be a team player and accept instruction Ability and willingness to travel frequently - up to 20% Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and altitudes Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly Ability to work on rooftops two stories and above Ability to drive and work in a bucket truck in heights up to 65ft Axis - Motorola (Avigilon/Vigilant) Milestone - Genetec Fortinet Certifications, Licenses and Additional Requirements: Daily driving and maintenance of company vehicle Must maintain a valid driver's license with a safe driving record Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card Must have or be willing to obtain OSHA Construction Industry 10-Hour DOL Card Must have or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification Must be able to pass a background check and drug test Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Illinois PERC (Permanent Employee Registration Card)
