Role & Responsibilities As the Accounting and Finance manager, you will be key in maintaining visibility and discipline for Block Renovation's financials as we seek to grow sustainably. You will own the accounting function for our marketplace, including monthly and quarterly closes and performance vs. budget. You will step into existing processes but seek to revise, clarify and automate processes where it is possible to save time and increase clarity and accuracy. You will manage our Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring that bills are paid in a timely fashion, transactions are categorized, and unexpected spikes in expenses are noted and addressed. You will assist with our Treasury function, ensuring that operating and investment accounts are appropriately funded over the course of each quarter. You will also partner with our VP of Finance in budgeting and strategic planning, and have the opportunity to be a close partner in annual planning and fundraising exercises in the future. Qualifications 4+ years experience in accounting role CPA required Strong analytical abilities and advanced proficiency in Excel Understanding of GAAP and applicable accounting rules and regulations Comfortable working independently as a subject matter expert, and prioritizing time toward the greatest impact Curiosity to explore complex questions, learn about the business, problem-solve, and improve processes Excited to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment; experience with startup e-commerce or marketplace businesses will be valuable This is a full-time position reporting to the VP Finance. Preference will be given to candidates who are enthusiastic to work a hybrid schedule based in our Brooklyn, NY office. The initial annual salary for this position is expected to range from $102,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors.
