Our client is recruiting a Procurement Manager to join its Demand Planning team. Description The Procurement Manager will report to the VP of Demand Planning and Procurement and will be responsible for leading a team of buyers, and sourcing, and managing the company"s day-to-day purchasing activities. Proposed Key Roles and Responsibilities * Ensures team members are meeting performance standards. * Oversees all purchase orders ensuring quantities follow guidelines across finished goods, raw materials, domestic and overseas. * Provides guidelines to team ensuring buying strategy aligns to long lead inventory targets. * Leads and summarizes the supply chain gap process ensuring high profile items are escalated as necessary. * Responsible for the visibility of inventory 52 weeks out * Leads the implementation of new ERP to develop purchasing workflows and approvals in the system with appropriate approval levels. * Conducts cost analyses and sets benchmarks for improvement. * Optimizes inventory levels, implementing strategies to ensure availability of products. * Takes the lead in creating a platform to review obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset write offs. * Propose improvements to the current purchasing process that will optimize inventory levels and increase service levels while reducing carrying costs. * Oversees various reports providing visibility to cross functional teams * Collaborates cross functionally across sales, operations and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in purchasing and inventory management. * Interviews new hires, and train new staff as needed. * Responsible for freight strategy and negotiations * 3PL liaison Job Requirements Desired Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications • Bachelor"s degree with a business or supply chain concentration required • 5 + years" experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory planning or similar field • 2 + years" experience in managing a team. • Proven track record of reducing inventory through purchasing management • Excellent understanding of material functionality, material flow and handling to optimize supply chain teams. • Strong project management skills, supervising and collaborating across teams • Strong ability to manage priorities and multiple tasks at a high level while consistently meeting deadlines in a dynamic and energetic work environment • Attention to detail and ability to follow through. • Curious by nature, self-starter, takes initiative and able to convert high-level guidance into action. • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization. #ZRNC
