Safety Manager

The Rush Companies is looking for an experienced Safety Manager to join our team. The Safety Manager is responsible for supervising the company's Health and Safety Program and ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations.The Rush Companies is a diversified real estate organization comprised of seven companies that work together to build and maintain communities. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssists Division Lead(s), Site Superintendent(s), and Foreman on jobsites with adherence to company safety and loss control policiesWork with project teams to look for creative solutions to reduce work risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices Assists in the documentation and implementation of required or desired changes in the safety programEvaluates subcontractor safety programs for comprehensiveness and compliance with The Rush Companies policiesEnsures full compliance of safety planControls hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices through site visits, safety plans, and education of all supervisory personnelReviews documentation of all required onsite records and reports are complete, accurate, and submitted per established proceduresReinforces safety awareness in a manner that promotes cooperation and improved morale Assists with worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous conditions monitoring, and use of safety equipmentConducts work area inspections and assists in personal injury investigationsProvides job orientation to crew at jobsitesProvides technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent5+ years of general construction experience with emphasis on health and safety; understanding of applicable federal, state, local and company regulationsAbility to recognize on-site risk factors and take appropriate action with firmness and tactExperience with MS Office suite of applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)Ability and willingness to travel to project locations within the greater Puget Sound regionCertified First AidCPROSHA 30 CertificationCompensationBenefitsCompensation: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 (DOE)Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401 (K) matching, Tuition Reimbursement, Paid Time Off and Bonus PayPhysical RequirementsThe overall nature of the position requires constant light physical exertion with minimal physical effort frequently required.
