Our turnkey specialty systems and custom solutions are executed with the latest technologies and provide clients with a single point of contact throughout a project, which allows for lower overall costs, higher quality control, and faster results.Role DescriptionThis full-time Senior Lighting Designer role is a hybrid role, implying that the role is located in the New York City Metropolitan Area but some work from home is acceptable. As a Senior Lighting Designer at MRD Lighting, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing lighting solutions for different commercial industries. Your day-to-day tasks will include collaborating with clients, architects, interior designers, and other stakeholders to plan and implement lighting designs that meet the clients' needs. You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior designers and work in conjunction with our Lead Designers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality projects.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Lighting Design (or equivalent years of experience)Must be a legal US resident and authorized to work in the US. No work visa's will be provided.Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in designing and developing lighting systems and solutionsSolid understanding of buildingelectrical codes and regulations relating to lighting systemsStrong technical knowledge of lighting fixtures, controls, and LED technologyExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and contractorsProficiency in design software such as AGi32, SketchUp, Photoshop, and InDesignKnowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is a mustExperience with project management and leading a team of designersLighting certification (such as LC, LEED, or CLEP) is a plusExperience in commercial or hospitality industries is a plus
