SUMMARYThe Digital Operations Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of all Digital workers for assigned work shifts; directly manages all Digital Department presses, schedules, finishing operations, ordering, shippingreceiving needs and maintenance operations to maximize productivity and minimize costs while maintaining safety and quality standards. JOB FUNCTIONPURPOSEManagementExecutes all planning, assignment and direction of work.Carries out supervisor responsibilities including training of all Digital Leads, and employees.Drives a culture of accountability, quality and safety through clearly stated goals and pletes performance reviews, developing employees and offering career advancement opportunities as they are available.Creates, documents, trains, and posts work instructions for all processes and workflows within department.Works with HR and appropriate department managers on employee coaching, training, and disciplinary action and overall response to issues and conditions that may affect the workforce.Helps Maintain department RosterManning with all positions municates with HR to request additional temporary personnel.SafetyEnsures safety programs are enforced and training is provided on safe practices along with company policies.Continually improves safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.LogisticsWorks with Scheduling and Purchasing to ensure all materials are available for order manufacturing.Manages on hand material and inventory control.Ensures supplies and equipment are available for maximum efficiency.Tracks and manages department costs inclusive of labor and materials.ProductionConducts daily meetings with Digital SupervisorLead(s) to review production status, production updates and upcoming projects.Ensures that production schedule and relevant issues are successfully passed off between shifts and plans work accordingly.Supports, develops and maintains a continuous improvement system that ensures efficiencies and quality while reducing errors.Participates on the evaluation and cost analysis of the projects during the run and when is completed and provides feedback about ways to spects machine centers for evidence of excessive waste.Ensures all production data is gathered and reported correctly in Amtech daily.Monitors work in progress for safety, quality and adherence to specs.Stays up to update on print trendsnew technology.Analyzes quality issue reports.Participates in assembly of the First Article, when required.Ability to cross train on Barberan and Elitron to cover outages for vacation and sick days. MaintenanceHelps create maintenance plans and SOP for all print equipment.Works with the Maintenance Department to ensures machines are properly maintained and preventive maintenance procedures are followed.Checks work areas to ensure that proper 6S process housekeeping procedures are being followed.Holds Print Operators accountable for printer maintenance and cleanliness of machineworkspace.Ensures that Digital workflow is efficient and at optimum levels.Ensures that all Digital Presses color profiles are current.Performs additional duties as requested.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIESMinimum 2 - 3 years' management experience in printing andor packaging industry preferred.Strong technical knowledge of offset and digital printing.Solid communication and organizational skills.Leadership and mentoring skills are required.PC proficient; MS Word, excel and internet.OTHERUS Persons Only (US citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugee or asylee - all require proper identification and documentation).Physical and Environmental Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift andor move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.Work environment includes front-office and manufacturing in Illinois.
