Traditional cell therapy development faces a trade-off between in vitro approaches that are fast but inaccurate, and in vivo approaches that are accurate but slow and expensive. Using our proprietary platform combining spatial biology, pooled screening, in silico protein engineering, and machine learning, we can obtain both depth and breadth when screening cell therapy candidates - speed without compromising on in vivo accuracy. Our team is highly collaborative, interdisciplinary, and shares the mission of developing novel immune cell therapies to benefit patients' lives.Position Summary:We are seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic research technician who is motivated to develop scientific knowledge and skills while providing extensive technical support. In this position, you will have the opportunity to learn and implement wide-ranging techniques in immunology, cell and cancer therapies, and microscopy alongside a team of interdisciplinary scientists. You will work collaboratively on multiple projects including generation of CAR-T cell constructs, detecting RNA and proteins in tissue samples from cancer models, and generation of antibodies. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience in cell culture, handling tissues, and fluorescence microscopy, will be highly organized, and will have strong problem-solving and communication skills.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCell culture with multiple cancer cell lines and primary immune cells.Lentivirus production and transduction of primary immune cells to manufacture cell therapies.Analyzing immune cells using multi-color flow cytometry.Preparation of samples for microscopy.Apply spatial biology tools to tumor samples using Waypoint's spatial biology platform.Manage general laboratory operations and organization, such as maintaining equipment, reagents, and supplies.Develop and write scientific protocols, analyze data, and communicate experimental results.Record experiments and results clearly in an electronic lab notebook. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively to provide experimental support while independently driving their projects.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, or a related field.2+ years experience in academic or industry research with emphasis on cell culture and molecular biology.Strong technical skills in routine cell culture including expanding and maintaining multiple cell lines, lentivirus or retrovirus production, cryopreservation of cell lines, and sterile technique.Proficiency in molecular cloning techniques such as PCR, bacterial transformation, plasmid isolation and purification, and gel electrophoresis.Ability to learn quickly, prioritize multiple tasks in accordance with changing responsibilities, work in a fast-paced environment.Enthusiasm for taking initiative on a range of responsibilities.Strong organization and communication skills to work collaboratively with diverse scientific team.Preferred QualificationsExperience with primary immune cells or cancer models.Expertise in tissue dissection, sectioning, or immunofluorescence.Familiarity with flow cytometry or FACS.Experience with multiplexed cloning approaches.Hands-on expertise in microscopySend CV and cover letter to apply:
