Financial Sponsors (Real Assets) Managing Director - Corporate & Investment BankingBBVA New York City Metropolitan Area (Hybrid)1. Summary of Responsibilities:Manage, from our NY office, a group of BBVA Financial Institutions clients (Financial Sponsors investing in real assets, with focus on infra & energy) strengthen relationships and provide added-value solutions to clients.Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) handles BBVA's investment banking, global markets, global lending and transactional businesses for international and domestic corporate clients and institutional investors.Responsible for managing the client relationship with a financial sponsors client portfolio (clients based in USA and Canada) across all CIB products and geographies (global perimeter -North America, Latam, Europe-), in coordination with the rest of financial sponsors global hubs (BBVA's offices in London, Madrid and Paris).BBVA`s Financial Sponsors coverage team, part of the Financial Institution Group, is composed of 15+ members.The role reports to the Global Head of Financial Sponsors and to the Country Manager of USA. 2. List MajorEssential Job Duties:• Elaborate the sales strategy and business plan for a portfolio of Financial Sponsors firms based in the US and Canada (with a global investment mandate in the whole BBVA's footprint) in partnership with other CIB units (products, risk, legal...)• Submit and present proposals to the relevant Risk and Commercial Committees. Closely monitor the Risk profile of assigned clients. Build and maintain a frequent communication with Risk units• Maximize (risk-adjusted) profitability of current clients by managing exposure, pricing strategy and cross-selling other BBVA products• Expand the business by increasing capillarity with existing clients and onboarding new selective strategic prospect clients in the region in line with BBVA's ambition to increase its market share in the above mentioned geographies• Engage with clients at a senior level to elevate BBVA's strategic dialogue• Stay abreast of national and international regulation (solvency, liquidity management, ESG framework...) 3. Skills, knowledge, and abilitiesCompetencies: Skills:• Strong understanding of the real assets financial sponsors business' main trends and drivers• Good knowledge of corporate and investment banking products particularly of Structured Finance (with relevant experience in the US, including energy and infra assets) and M&A (including Latam), • Good networkconnections with main financial sponsors in US and Canada (infra funds, pension plans and other institutions investing in real assets)• Strong leadership, sales and customer orientation.• Proactive to drive business and adapt to dynamic environment - Entrepreneurial mindsetAbility to work in a global team exchanging ideas and generating X border business opportunities. Requirements:• Degree in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting or a related discipline• At least 10 years of relevant front office experience• Fluency in Spanish is a plus With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $300,000 to $350,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
