Data Privacy Specialist

Role Description:The candidate will be a versatile team player, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic in addressing new challenges. This role is within the Group Privacy and Data Protection team, reporting directly to the Global Head of Privacy and Data Protection and located in New York City.The successful candidate will be involved in global privacy initiatives, interacting on a regular basis with Legal & Compliance, Information Security, Technology, Business, and Internal Audit groups as well as with senior leadership teams. Candidates must have a proven track record of providing sound and practical privacy compliance advice and must be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate and influence others.Key Responsibilities:Support the Global Head of Privacy and Data Protection in implementing the Global Privacy and Data Protection Policy and frameworkAssist with elements of the privacy compliance framework including undertaking privacy review of high risk businesses, assisting in the completion of the record of processing activities, dealing with privacy incidents and data subject access requests.Conduct privacy impact assessments to evaluate compliance with laws, regulations, and internal standards, identify risks and advise on mitigating actions that should be takenMonitor legislative and regulatory developments in the area of data protection and privacyPartner with control and oversight groups to create, maintain, test, and monitor best practices for privacy protection controlsSkills: KnowledgeExperience:3-5 years experience, preferably operating in a global privacy and data protection environmentRelevant legal andor privacy qualification desirable.Familiarity with privacy protection laws throughout the client footprintDirect experience working in financial services is highly desired Experience or familiarity with conducting privacy risk assessmentsAbility to build rapport with key stakeholders to identify privacy riskstrends and stay abreast of new productsinitiativesAbility to manage multiple tasks concurrentlyAbility to communicate effectively in verbal and written formMotivated self-starter with strong attention to detailDevelops solutions to problems, checking where appropriate with senior managementCommitted to thinking and acting with integrity and honesty
