Photonics Sourcing Specialist

Avo Photonics is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops, and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base. Members of our staff can design, prototype, and produce next generation products for a diverse range of markets including environmental, medical, automotive, military, industrial, aerospace, and communications.We seek a diligent, dedicated and meticulous Photonics Sourcing Specialist who will help to further our success and reputation in the industry through world-class customer service.Responsibilities:Identify, evaluate, and qualify photonics component suppliersSource new suppliers while maintaining relationships with existing onesMonitor and evaluate the performance of suppliers and ensure timely resolution of any issuesMaintain constant communication regarding pricing, delivery and quality of componentsSeek opportunities to reduce cost through negotiation, process improvements and supplier selectionGenerate quote comparisons and maintain a database of suppliers by componentBe the expert by attending trade shows, and knowing industry trends, market conditions, and technologiesRequirements:BS in Engineering, Physics, Supply Chain Management, or a related fieldStrong technical understanding of photonics technology and its applications3 years experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the photonics industryProven ability to negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost optimization initiativesExperience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft WordAbility to work in a face paced environmentOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsAvo Photonics offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package.
