Job SummaryHomeric Tours, a New York City-based leading tour operator, specializing in the Mediterranean, Europe and Africa for over 50 years, is seeking to add an experienced travel professional for an available full-time Inside Salesmanagerial position in its Group Department. Our company provides customized high-quality independent, hosted and escorted tours to destinations such as Greece, Italy, Portugal, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Morocco, Turkey, Cyprus,Switzerland, Central & Eastern Europe and African Safaris (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda). Group department also specialized in religious tours throughout the world. Company offers travel perks, medical benefits and annual bonuses based on performance. Compensation based on experience.Responsibilities and Duties* Manage relationships with existing clients targeting repeat business opportunities.* Develop relationships and cultivate leads provided by outside sales initiatives and normal customer inquiries.* Design tailor-made itineraries in consultation with client.* Negotiate rates with vendors.* Follow up on proposals in a timely manner to maximize the conversion to sales.* Maintain relationship with suppliers* Ensure a high standard of sales service is offered at all times.Qualifications and Skills* Outstanding negotiation abilities, both with clients and suppliers, are essential. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and articulate both in writing and on the phone.* Excellent customer service skills are important.* The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is required.* Comprehensive product knowledge of destinations in which we specialize, especially Greece.* Candidate must have proven awareness of hotel pricing, service, and travel-industry issues.* Strong analytical skills, self-motivated, enthusiastic, organized, attention to detail.* Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines.* Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.Requirements:* The optimal candidate will have 5+ years of Group-related experience working for a tour operator.* Comprehensive product knowledge of destinations in which we specialize, especially Greece.* Proficiency in Excel, Word and the internet.* Knowledge of use of SABRE system is a plus.*Applicant must be willing to work in our NYC office.BenefitsHomeric Tours offers travel perks, medical benefits and annual bonuses based on performance.
