The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing project and bid strategies. You will do so by analyzing project proposals and historical cost data. Ultimately, your work will help us develop new business opportunities. ResponsibilitiesAttend bid meetings and develop and execute bid strategyPrepare thorough and timely cost analysisAnalyze project proposals to prepare budget and cost estimateGather, update, and review historical cost dataQualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management or related field of studyExperience estimating projects or relevant engineering experienceProficient in Microsoft Office suite This is a full-time, in-office position. The ideal candidate is adept with estimating, with an eagle eye for details and high energy, able to navigate several projects at the same time. This is a busy office that handles over 100 bidsproposals a month for some of NYC's most high profile projects. Union eligibility. Full benefits package. Full job description The Electrical Estimator is responsible for lump sum bids, budgets and value engineering. Looking for Senior Estimator as well as mid-level Estimators. Job Responsibilitiesâ— Conduct analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required information is provided.â— Develop cost estimate using the guidelines established by the Estimating DepartmentConduct a complete review of plans and specification and Identify all scope of workHighlight any scope that is unclear or has been omittedâ— Ability to review other estimates and provide meaningful insightâ— Provide detailed quantity survey of specific trade and input information electronically via company software.â— Attend bid site walks and scope review meetingsâ— Provide detailed unit prices for quantities and review data with department head.â— Produce quantitative surveys and accurate pricing for projectsâ— Obtain and present unit pricing dataâ— Outlining clarifications and qualifications within an estimate.â— Provide back up for estimates to be used during analysis and review.â— Possess and apply knowledge of unit prices and the materiallabor component.â— Compile complete estimatebid package breakdownQualificationsâ— A minimum of 7-10 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training andor experience.â— Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including excelâ— Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels, both internal and externalâ— Use of computer estimating software programs Job Skills & Abilitiesâ— Understanding of market pricing and trendsâ— Understanding of Conceptual estimationâ— Requires an understanding of selected software (Building Connected, Microsoft Office)â— Ability to meet critical deadlinesâ— Ability to work as a part of a team
