Applicants must reside in the greater Chicago, IL areaPOSITION STATEMENT: Responsible for directing, communicating, motivating, organizing, and controlling the execution of company and supplier goals through the assigned personnel and distributor network to achieve targeted sales, depletions, and profit plans on Banfi's brand portfolio. Responsible for communicating to the Sr Director of Sales, Midwest Division the status and needs of District Managers and customers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for managing Banfi Vintners' portfolio of products in a region including district managers, distributors, and the trade within designated markets.Responsible for executing the volume and budget plan for an assigned region.Oversee the execution and compliance for all channels of trade.Directly responsible for targeted regional revenue and profitability goals.Develops and motivates district managers, manages performance, and focuses Sales Team on selling brands to market potential.Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all sales efforts in a specified regional area.Accountable for managing all budgets, including the allocation of trade spending and total sales expenses.Take an active role in assessing district manager and distributor performance, including addressing poor performance issues.Manage and develop district managers' and wholesalers' capabilities to adopt and implement Banfi's brand strategies and objectives through effective execution of Banfi's "Sales Process". Ensure Banfi's customers are managing Banfi's brand strategies to the trade.Call on off- & on- premises and chain accounts in conjunction with the distributor or Banfi District Manager. Possess ample knowledge of products, the wine industry, competitive brands, and markets.Cultivate cross-department relationships within the company, especially between sales and marketing, to carry out Banfi's brand strategies. Adherence to executive directions is a critical part of the job.Exercise appropriate behavior with trade personnel, always representing company brands in the best and most professional manner.Exercise the highest level of fiduciary duty to the company in all financial matters including budgets, promotional spending, and every aspect of the Company's business.Job execution will break into following components:60 % of time spent with Banfi and distributor managers and the trade.20 % of time spent planning, organizing, directing, and controlling execution.20% administrative, preplanning, and follow-up. This would include virtual communication platforms.For certain markets multi-language skills are required or would be a plus, i.e. Italian or Spanish (if required this will be identified during the recruitment process).Fluent knowledge of PC, working with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelPHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those required by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The incumbent must be aware that the job involves distribution of alcohol beverages and recognizes that the company in no way encourages excessive or unnecessary drinking of alcoholic beverages while exercising the duties of this job. The incumbent must occasionally lift andor move up to 50 pounds at a time, the approximate weight of a case of wine.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Current valid driver's licenseOvernight travel as required and must be able to meet minimum requirement travel schedule for assigned territories.Prepare as needed and participate in training meetings with wholesalers and retailers.Time-management skillsNo DWI offenses or illegal drug useMust use for business a clean, late model, presentable and fully operational four (4) door vehicle that reflects professionalism (company auto allowance provided).Employee must comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations which govern the alcoholic beverage industry and maintain at all times the highest ethical business standards and fiduciary duty on behalf of the company and its customers.
