Counsel (Asset Management) - New York

Our client, a well-respected asset manager, is looking to add a strategic 'Fund Formation Counsel', 'Corporate Counsel' & a '40 Act Counsel' to join their growing Legal team. This newly created role will provide day-to-day legal support to the firm's fund and asset management business.Profile below: ~3-10 years investment management experience. In-house experience within investment managementasset management andor law firm experience is required. Experience with Investment Advisers Act of 1940 experience handling a variety of investment management legal issues ANDOR experience working with funds governed by the Investment Company Act of 1940 (i.e., mutual funds, registered funds, closed end funds, interval funds, BDCs), private credits funds, offshore investment vehicles OR Alternatives funds. Fund Formation experience TransactionsNew Product Development Experience monitoring new regulatory mandates, rules, and requirements. Draft, negotiate and review various types of legal agreements and regulatory documents. Strong time management skills and efficient utilization of technology. Demonstrated ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice and recommendations. High level of integrity and professionalism.
