The Duravant vision is to lead the engineered equipment industry in every market we serve, and we do that by staying true to our core values of integrity, teamwork, respect, winning spirit, and sense of urgency.Our newly formed, centralized supply chain group is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Category Manager to oversee the procurement and management of Electrical Components across multiple operating companies within our industrial, global manufacturing organization. The Category Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies that drive cost savings, ensure supply chain efficiency, and support our overall business objectives. This role demands a deep understanding of industrial components, electrical, and market trends, along with strong leadership and negotiation skills.Key Responsibilities:Category Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for Electrical Components, aligning with organizational goals and market trends. Drive initiatives to optimize the supply chain and enhance procurement performance across all operating companies.Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and engage with suppliers to build strong partnerships. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and manage relationships to ensure the highest standards of quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for contracts and agreements with suppliers, focusing on securing favorable terms and conditions. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and supply chain dynamics. Utilize insights to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed.Cost Management: Implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives to achieve budget targets. Monitor and analyze spending patterns, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and other internal teams to understand their requirements and ensure that procurement strategies support their needs. Facilitate effective communication and coordination between different operating companies.Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain related to machine components and metals. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply and minimize disruptions.Reporting and Metrics: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to category management. Provide regular updates and insights to senior management on category performance, market conditions, and strategic pliance and Best Practices: Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance processes and drive operational excellence.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPP, CPM) is a plus.Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in category management or procurement within an industrial manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on Electrical Components.
