Our team of instructors consists of NYC teachers and private tutors who have implemented gamified curricula to teach ELA and Algebra I Regents to students in grades 8-12. We have achieved significant increases in test scores and have recently secured a 5-year contract with the NYC Department of Education.Role DescriptionThis is a contract role for an Algebra I Regents Tutor located on-site in the Bronx, NYC. The tutor will be responsible for providing 2-3 after-school sessions weekly to students in grades 8-12, helping them towards passing the January andor June Regents exams. Tutors should be prepared to serve a diverse population of students and be able to provide differentiated supports. You will work with 1 co-tutor and up to 15 students in the cohort. Additionally, the tutor will collaborate with school administrators and teachers to support student learning outcomes.QualificationsExperience teaching Algebra I Regents and implementing NYC SolvesIllustrative Math curriculumStrong knowledge of math concepts related to Algebra IAbility to engage and motivate students in a classroom settingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExperience working with students from diverse backgroundsBachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or related fieldTeaching certification or relevant tutoring experience
