BUSINESS LITIGATION ASSOCIATE WITH 3-5 YEARS EXPERIENCE Hoge Fenton, a venerable multi-service law firm headquartered in downtown San Jose, is actively recruiting for a mid-level (3-5 years) associate with substantive business litigation experience. This position may be based in our Tri-Valley (Pleasanton), Peninsula (San Mateo), or Silicon Valley (downtown San Jose) office. Periodic travel between our offices is necessary, as this associate will work with attorneys in all office locations.Job Requirements The successful candidate:possesses strong working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure and Evidence Codehas experience preparing pleadings; preparing discovery demands and responses; motion practice; appearing in court; taking and defending depositions; and preparing for and participating in mediations and settlement negotiationsworks well with others, in teams, and across practice groupshas private law practice experience, with some experience taking responsibility for client matters (with supervision) and disciplined contemporaneous time entryhas experience independently identifying issues and anticipatingrecommending strategy in litigationhas strong academic credentialshas excellent written and oral communication skillshas strong legal and factualinvestigative research skillshas an exquisite attention to detail and accuracy is committed to excellence and has a strong work ethichas a desire to learn and grow professionallywants to invest in building a future with a mid-sized law firmMust be an active member of the State Bar of California and in good standing.The annual base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $175,000. This salary range represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
