We are partnered with a growing renewable energy project developer who is long-established in Europe and who have been pioneers in the solar PV market for close to 20 years. The business has since expanded to develop a wide array of clean technologies across its development portfolio.As a result of continued US expansion, the business is looking to hire a motivated and talented M&A Development Manager to join its team. This role will suit someone who possesses excellent account management and business development skills within the renewable project development space.The position will occupy a central role in identifying and executing purchase andor co-development opportunities with a focus on strategic or distressed development-stage solar PV assets. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Director of Capital Markets and the Senior Director of Origination.Responsibilities:Business Development:Identify and screen target projects or pipelines that fit the business' development portfolio and strategic objectives.Conduct initial outreach to asset owners.Manage seller outreach across multiple projects or campaigns and maintain accurate reporting on all conversations in Salesforce.Establish and maintain relationships with solar energy developers, IPPs, landowners, and other industry participants.Energy-markets knowledge:Identify significant flaws in opportunities due to environmental, permitting, interconnection, or other constraints.Analyze interconnection queues to determine potential opportunities and present competitive initial offers to asset owners.Stay up to date on state and local programs in for solar or storage assets, including state incentive programs.Contract review & negotiation:Negotiate various types of asset purchase and real estate agreements.Review contract redlines and prepare contracts for review and execution.Skills required:BSBA degree or higher in business, finance, engineering, or sustainability.4-6 Years experience for a renewable energy project origination or development. Prior DG or community solar experience is a plus.Strong technical understanding with the full life cycle of both DG- and utility-scale solar and storage project origination, development and valuation.Extensive network of industry contacts, particularly developers and IPPs.Experience in gathering contact information and using publicly available databases to find individuals associated with companies.Experience negotiating, reviewing and preparing various types of real estate or asset sale contracts.Display strategic thinking and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Salesforce experience a plus.Ability to read and understand financial models also a plus.
