Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts; three 12-hour nights with an occasional day shift as needed; 36 hours per week Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 5 years of current RRT experience in an acute care facility required; Prior travel experience preferred License: State licensure required Certifications: BLS (AHA) required; NRP, ACLS, PALS preferred; CPFT Certification preferred; Asthma Educator Certification preferred Must-Have: - High comfort level working with ventilators- Experience with HHN, BiPAP, and CPAP Job Description: - Provide therapeutic and diagnostic cardiopulmonary services as directed- Demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable physiology and pathology- Ability to work independently and willingness to work in a team-oriented environment- Effective communication skills required- Rotate from the pulmonary clinic to respiratory therapy staff work, as predetermined by the Clinical Supervisor- Participate in on-call duties as required- Cross-train in EEG and sleep medicine as needed- Familiarity with computer applications required, with a willingness to learn software applications used in the department- Maintain a professional dress code: scrubs (any color), closed-toe shoes, no denim, no perfume or cologne- Manage a typical therapist/patient ratio of 1:5 or 6, with responsibilities in the ED, inpatient care, and patient transport to tertiary care centers- Follow department rotation and holiday requirements as needed
