Together. Every day. CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Distribution Planner III to join our Power & Manufacturing - Electric Distribution Team working from home. YOUR IMPACT CHA's distribution design engineers have the deep experience and skillset to plan, design, and permit sustainable electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems, and improve energy delivery and grid resilience. The Distribution Planner III is responsible for having a strong understanding of the client's GIS design systems, understanding construction standards, and designing projects as requested by the client. The professional in this role is able to work more independently to problem solve and design but will still work closely with and receives guidance from the Distribution Planner IV and Sr. Distribution Planner to ensure system issues are identified, appropriate timeframes are being met, and work is being handled appropriately. The Distribution Planner III is becoming more proficient in the client's various GIS design systems and is a role model for less experienced team members. This individual can also be leading critical tasks and processes as well as mentoring newer staff for various projects and/or clients. Essential responsibilities for this role include: Demonstrates a working knowledge of overhead and underground electric distribution systems, and/or gas distribution systems More proficient working in clients' design system applications Ability to work more independently and take on more complex projects, while still receiving guidance from more experienced staff May travel with the Utility Specialist(s) to review progress of projects Other related duties, as assigned Some travel required Complete field survey of electrical distribution networks May assist senior staff with assignment submittals and communications with clients Continuously review workload to identify schedule issues, ability to communicate with project leadership to ensure workload is prioritized properly. REQUIREMENTS Associate degree in engineering technology or a related field required; Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering preferred or an equivalent certification and professional work experience A minimum of 4 years related experience is required Experience with underground electric distribution design is preferred Proficient with computer systems, such as GIS and Work Management Systems Strong ability to work in both a team environment and independently Valid driver's license required SALARY RANGE: $62,000 - $75,000 Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
