JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Campus Retail Dining , a dynamic customer service-orientated team at Penn State University is looking to fill the role of Starbucks General Manager . This role is responsible for the management of a high-volume Starbucks licensed store located on Penn State's University Park Campus. The selected candidate will manage, hire, train, coach, supervise, mentor, schedule, discipline, and evaluate both full and part-time employees including, leading the store's operations, customer satisfaction, product quality, ordering, financial performance, delegation of routine tasks appropriately, reviewing completed work of others, and team development. The manager's overall duty is to help the team create a welcoming environment. Key responsibilities include: Implementing on-going training and marketing initiatives according to the national brand marketing calendar. Assist in the financial success of the unit through cost containment and maximization of revenue by driving sales in creative and unique approaches. Maintain the highest level of food handling and sanitation under ServSafe standards. Maximize excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be friendly, outgoing, and give top priority to customer satisfaction. Under management guidance and direction, research, develop, market, and implement new products, menus, recipes, and concepts Meet with special event and catering customers; manage, plan, and execute functions to customer satisfaction Follow Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions; participate in grievance procedures, hearings, and arbitrations as required Participate in departmental and University-wide initiatives and committees; complete special projects and reports as assigned Education and Experience: Minimum requirement is a Bachelors Degree plus six (6) years of relevant experience. Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
