Job Overview We are seeking a professional Driver to join our team. This position drives a Salvation Army truck to pick-up and transport materials to and from specified destinations as assigned while consistently representing The Salvation Army with a professional and polite demeanor and providing exceptional service. Key Responsibilities Customer Service Operations Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army, ensuring all donors are treated courteously and respectfully Follow routing procedures as scheduled Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors and report any pickup problems to the dispatcher Support beneficiaries to maximize work therapy goals through training and mentoring Maintain a neat appearance in accordance with ARC dress code policy for drivers Vehicle Safety Management Conduct daily pre and post-trip inspections of air, water, oil, lights, etc. to maintain equipment in excellent working order Ensure compliance with all DOT and OSHA regulations and requirements Immediately report any safety or security concerns to management, including accidents involving truck, personal injury, or property damage Use efficiency and care to ensure the security and safe handling of all goods and materials Wear all assigned PPE provided, including but not limited to gloves, masks, or back guard Transportation Logistics Responsible for loading and unloading of trucks as needed Communicate effectively using the DSS program and other apps as assigned on iPad Available for flexible scheduling, including early shifts, late shifts, and some weekends Qualifications Required Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) [Class appropriate for trucks operated] Clean driving record Ability to pass DOT physical examination Physical ability to lift and move heavy items Strong customer service skills Excellent communication abilities Proficiency with mobile devices and basic apps Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds regularly Ability to climb in and out of truck cab multiple times per day Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the work shift Manual dexterity to safely operate truck and equipment Work Environment Work is primarily conducted in a truck cab and at various pickup/delivery locations Exposure to various weather conditions May encounter dusty or dirty environments when handling donations Variable schedule including early mornings, evenings, and some weekends Additional Information What We Offer Full-time position with competitive pay Professional development opportunities Supportive and mission-driven work environment Comprehensive benefits package Benefits Package Health Care Benefits Medical coverage Dental coverage Vision coverage Hearing coverage Flexible spending accounts Voluntary life insurance benefits Retirement Benefits Pension plan available after one year of employment 403(b) voluntary retirement savings plan available immediately Paid Time Off Vacation time (accrual begins after first full calendar month) Sick days (including discretionary day options) Personal days Floating holidays Paid holidays (effective immediately) All PTO becomes available for use after 90 days of employment The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.
