Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer will have strong communications with internal and external teams to provide manufacturing expertise, develop MBOMs, and determine recommendations for required tooling. This individual will develop, implement and maintain manufacturing methods, operation sequence and processes required for production. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to work for our Sterling Heights, MI or Troy, MI office. Essential Functions: • Generates bills of material for MRP system. • Coordinate BOM development and changes for accuracy within ARV to include coordination with ARV partners • Create and maintain MBOM data for ARV programs and/or any additional or future programs. • Develop and manage Teamcenter manufacturing databases • Strong functional expertise in core PLM capabilities such as Parts & Components Management, CAD Data Management & Integration, BOM Management (EBOM, MBOM and Service BOM), Change Management, Supplier Collaboration, Enterprise Data Integration, etc. • Communicate Engineering BOM requirements between Supply Chain and Production to facilitate material planning, order fulfillment and execution • Makes revision to MBOM and work instructions per specification or manager's direction with feedback to design and engineering teams. • Provides guidance to product structure and design fit up analysis. • Interpret Engineering Bills of Materials (BOM) into documents suitable for Manufacturing and Materials planning • Provides technical assistance related to product design to other departments and material procurements. • Update manufacturing documents for production. This includes creation, editing, and providing support for training, work instructions and process/procedure documentation in support of manufacturing processes with a focus in TeamCenter, MBOM, and virtual assembly. • Development of MBOMs and station work instructions. STRONG understanding of MRP planning as related to MBOM structure and development. • DETAILED Understanding of design release activities and engineering changes and their effect on the MBOM. • General understanding of MRP planning as related to MBOM structure and development. • Participates in and supports as needed Engineering Release Plans through MBOM development • Provides input to Manufacturing for Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing) • DETAILED understanding of Teamcenter and MRP planning • Good planning and organizational skills • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information and maintain confidentiality. • Positive attitude and flexible approach to work • Ability to work as a contributing member of multi-disciplinary teams • Experience with defense contracts and DCMA audits preferred • Solid knowledge with technical standards, manufacturing engineering concepts, principles, and theories • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a self-motivated environment • Ability to review designs in a CAD system, including interrogating models and drawings.
