You are: Open to new ideas Nimble in fluid, changing environments Excited by growth, change, and innovation WHAT YOU'LL DO The Nurse is responsible for: Health Record Keeping Update and maintain Allergy, Asthma, seizure, and Medical Conditions List. Communicate medical needs of students to teachers and other staff. Maintain up-to-date health records, including vaccinations, in Magnus Health. Collaborate with the Registrar Team to follow up with families regarding missing forms through emails, phone calls, and in person conversations. Support the maintenance and upkeep of all aspects of the school health data system, Magnus. Support with compliance reporting. Health Care for Students & Staff Administer medication and support with creating healthcare plans for students. Respond to and evaluate emergency and non-emergency care needs. Maintain up to date treatment notes. Keep relevant school staff informed about the health status of students. Oversee infection control measures. Active member of the Covid Response Team. Communication with Families Communicate with families following school policies in response to COVID, lice, and any health-related concerns regarding transmission amongst numerous students and classes. Contact families regarding student health after visits to the nurse's office. Contact families for collecting medical forms, informing of injuries, and for other health-related reasons. Other Responsibilities Other responsibilities as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Registered Nurse in New York State (Current Licensure) preferred, LPN will be considered CPR/First Aid/AED Certified Strong organizational and clear communication skills A compassionate approach to care Ability to manage high stress situations and maintain accuracy in multi-tasking Willingness to participate in all school activities and support and contribute to the school community. Preferred Education and Experience: Pediatric nursing experience preferable Experience with special needs children a plus Experience with Magnus Health or other student/patient tracking systems is a plus Work Environment: This job operates in a school setting. School campuses are located on the 4th floor of one building with an elevator, as well as the ground, fifth, and sixth floors of a separate building with an elevator. This role requires walking to various locations around the school frequently and occasionally traveling between the two campuses, which are approximately two blocks apart. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is active and involves continuous standing, walking, and climbing stairs. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items above or around 100 pounds. Typing is required. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time exempt position in an educational facility that is open eight hours a day. Teachers, psychosocial teachers, and staff clinicians work ten months out of the year according to the academic calendar (late August to late June). Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required, anticipate at least three of these events throughout the year. In general, though, hours are Monday-Friday 8am - 4pm. Compensation and Benefits: Compensation is dependent upon experience and degree obtained. The annual salary range for a candidate with LPN or ADN credentials is $58,240-$70,720. The annual salary range for a candidate with RN credentials is $72,800-$93,600. Actual compensation is determined based on certification and years of experience as depicted by application materials.
